Overview
The Vertiv RMK-83 is a 19-inch VESA rackmount kit designed to securely install a single Vertiv HMX 5000 or HMX 6000 unit into standard server racks. This metal rackmount solution ensures your video extender or KVM device is properly positioned and protected within your network infrastructure, preventing accidental dislodging and improving cable management. It is specifically engineered for environments requiring organized rack deployments, such as data centers, network closets, or control rooms.
Compatibility
This rackmount kit is compatible exclusively with single units of the Vertiv HMX 5000 and HMX 6000 series. It is not designed for dual-unit installations or other Vertiv product lines like the HMX 8000 or LongView series, which require different mounting solutions (e.g., RMK-97 for dual HMX 5000/6000 units, or RMK-104 for HMX 8000).
Installation Notes
Installation involves attaching the VESA mounting brackets to the HMX unit and then securing the assembly to the 19-inch rack rails. Ensure the rack has adequate depth and stability for the combined weight of the HMX unit and the mount. Standard rack mounting hardware (screws, cage nuts) is typically required and may not be included with this kit.
