Overview
The ATEN CL1000M is a 1U single-rail rack-integrated LCD KVM console combining a 17-inch display, keyboard, and touchpad into a single pull-out drawer. Designed for data centers and server rooms where rack space is at a premium, the CL1000M eliminates the need for a separate monitor, keyboard, and mouse at each rack — one drawer handles local console access for the host server it connects to. The display supports input resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz and 1280 x 1024 @ 75 Hz with DDC2B signaling, meaning you get a sharp, full-detail view of server output without resolution scaling artifacts. A dedicated LED illumination light aids visibility in low-light server room environments. Power is managed via a single LED pushbutton and supplied through a standard IEC 60320/C14 inlet, accepting 100–240 VAC at 50–60 Hz — compatible with both North American and international PDU standards without an adapter. Luminance of 250 cd/m² is adequate for typical raised-floor environments but is not rated for high-ambient-light spaces. For ATEN KVM and console solutions, the CL1000M fits cleanly into single-server local-access deployments within standard rack-mount equipment configurations.
Compatibility
The CL1000M connects to servers via PS/2 or USB interfaces. USB connectivity requires ATEN 2L-520xUP cables (not included with all configurations — confirm cable kit before ordering). The unit is designed for direct single-server connection (Direct: 1), making it appropriate for standalone server console access rather than multi-server KVM switching deployments. If your environment requires switching between multiple servers from a single console, pair it with a compatible KVM switch upstream. The IEC C14 power inlet integrates with standard rack PDUs in any server rack accessory setup. Operating humidity is rated 0–80% RH non-condensing — standard for conditioned data center environments.
Installation Notes
Single-rail slide mechanism — verify rack rail compatibility before ordering, as single-rail designs require specific rail hardware that may differ from tool-less or double-rail systems. The IEC 60320/C14 power connection requires a C13-terminated PDU outlet or power cable. PS/2 connectivity requires the appropriate ATEN 2L-520xUP cable series; USB path uses the same cable family with a USB adapter. Input power draw is rated at 1A maximum at 100–240 VAC — low enough for virtually any standard PDU circuit without power budget concerns.
