Overview

The Panduit UTP28SP16BU is a 16-foot Category 6 (Cat6) unshielded twisted pair (UTP) copper patch cable. Its blue jacket aids in visual identification and cable management within network racks and data closets. This cable is designed for reliable data transmission in 1 Gigabit Ethernet (1GbE) networks, supporting applications requiring stable network connectivity, such as IP surveillance camera feeds or VMS data streams.

Compatibility

This Cat6 cable is compatible with all standard RJ45 network ports and equipment supporting 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet standards. It is suitable for connecting network devices such as switches, routers, servers, workstations, and IP cameras that utilize standard Ethernet interfaces. It is backward compatible with Cat5e and Cat5 standards but is optimized for Cat6 performance up to 100 meters.

Installation Notes

Ensure termination points (patch panels, wall plates, device ports) are also rated for Cat6 performance to achieve maximum throughput. Avoid sharp bends or kinks exceeding a 4x cable diameter radius, which can degrade signal integrity and performance. Keep cable runs as short as practical, up to the 100-meter (328 ft) maximum segment length for optimal performance.
