That EWP rating means the internal components are sealed for environments with up to 100% relative humidity, making this the correct service kit for outdoor installations, covered parking structures, elevator lobbies exposed to weather ingress, or any coastal or high-condensation deployment where a standard-humidity replacement kit would degrade prematurely. The unit is telephone line powered — no batteries, no external supply — requiring a minimum 24V DC talk battery and 20mA loop current from the connected analog line.

Compatibility

Designed for the Viking 1600A Series emergency telephone platform, specifically servicing the E-1600-52A model — a two-button, handsfree, ADA-compliant analog emergency phone compatible with standard Central Station Monitoring equipment. The two-button configuration (EMERGENCY + INFO) supports dialing up to three non-emergency numbers from the INFO button in addition to the primary emergency contact. This kit is appropriate for any E-1600-52A unit deployed on a standard PSTN or analog telephone line. It is not intended for the 1600-IP Series VoIP platform or the E-1600A-BLT-EWP tower model, which use different internal assemblies.
