Overview
The D16WHU12TB is a 16-channel hybrid digital video recorder designed for wall-mount deployment in commercial surveillance installations. It accepts both HD-TVI coax cameras up to 8MP and standard IP cameras on a per-channel basis, eliminating the need to standardize on a single transport medium across your site. Pre-loaded with 12TB of internal storage and network-enabled via dual gigabit Ethernet ports, this unit handles simultaneous recording from mixed camera types with configurable compression and playback strategies.
Compatibility
Accepts Speco HD-TVI cameras and third-party IP cameras supporting standard protocols. Each of the 16 channels can be independently configured for either HD-TVI coax input or IP input, making it compatible with existing analog-over-coax infrastructure or new IP deployments. Supports H.264 compression. Dual gigabit Ethernet ports allow separation of camera traffic from LAN traffic, reducing network congestion on sites with heavy monitoring loads. Includes free US-based Speco DDNS service for remote access.
Installation Notes
Unit is designed for wall mounting in a control room or equipment closet environment. Four internal SATA ports support the included 12TB storage; additional capacity up to 40TB total is achievable via mixed-capacity drives across the four slots. eSATA port available for external backup drives. Dual gigabit Ethernet ports require standard RJ-45 network cabling; configure port forwarding in your network settings for remote monitoring over the internet. RAID 1, 5, or 10 modes can be enabled to protect against single-drive failure; RAID capacity capped at 16TB per array.
