Description

Speco Technologies D16WHU20TB 16-Channel Wall Mount DVR

Overview

The D16WHU20TB is a 16-channel hybrid DVR in a compact wall-mount enclosure with 20TB of onboard storage. This form factor solves the space constraint problem in retail, small office, and light-commercial installations where a traditional 19-inch rack recorder won't fit — you mount it directly on a wall or in a shallow cabinet and run coax or IP video feeds into the back. The 20TB capacity handles moderate 24/7 retention across all 16 channels depending on codec and resolution chosen.

Compatibility

The D16WHU20TB supports both analog and IP video inputs on the same device — a core hybrid-recorder feature. It accepts standard coax-run composite video from legacy analog cameras and simultaneously ingests IP streams from modern IP cameras via Ethernet. This dual-input design is useful in retrofit or staged-migration scenarios where you're phasing out older analog hardware alongside new IP deployments. Confirm exact codec and VMS compatibility against your specific camera models before purchase.

Installation Notes

Wall mounting requires secure fastening into studs or wall anchors rated for the recorder weight. Ensure adequate ventilation around the enclosure — do not block intake/exhaust vents. Coax runs should follow standard shielding practices to minimize RF interference. PoE or 12V DC power is required; confirm available circuit capacity before installation. Run all video and power connections before mounting to avoid service calls post-installation.
