Altronix MAXIMAL55V Access Power Controller

Overview

The Altronix MAXIMAL55V is a robust access power controller designed to distribute and switch power for access control systems and their peripherals. It converts a 220VAC input into sixteen independently controlled 12VDC fuse-protected outputs. This unit is ideal for installations requiring reliable, distributed power for devices like mag locks, electric strikes, and magnetic door holders, particularly in environments where TAA, NDAA, and BAA compliance is mandated. The MAXIMAL55V ensures that critical access control hardware receives stable power, with fail-safe/fail-secure output options configurable via trigger inputs from access control systems, keypads, or REX devices.

Compatibility

This power controller is designed to interface with various access control system components. It accepts trigger inputs from open collector sink or normally open (NO) dry trigger sources, commonly found in systems utilizing keypads, push buttons, REX PIR sensors, or central access control panels. The sixteen 12VDC outputs are suitable for powering standard access control hardware such as magnetic locks, electric strikes, and magnetic door holders. The integrated fire alarm disconnect feature can be individually selected for any or all of the sixteen outputs, allowing seamless integration with fire alarm systems for emergency egress or monitoring.

Installation Notes

The unit operates on a 220VAC input with a working range of 198VAC to 256VAC at 50/60Hz, drawing up to 2.6A. It provides two isolated 12VDC power supply/charger outputs, each capable of delivering 9.5A, supporting a total of 16 fused outputs. The system supports up to 12AH/12VDC batteries for backup power. Operating temperature is between 0°C and 49°C (32°F to 120°F). The enclosure dimensions are 26"H x 19"W x 6.25"D.
