Description

Vertiv CM-19 1U 19-Inch Rack Strain Relief Bar

Overview

The Vertiv CM-19 is a 1U, 19-inch flat black strain relief bar designed to anchor and organize cables at the rear of standard EIA 19-inch rack enclosures. In high-density data center and network equipment deployments, unsupported cable weight at patch points causes connector stress, intermittent failures, and difficult troubleshooting — the CM-19 addresses that directly by providing a fixed tie-off point within the rack unit space. Its flat-bar profile keeps the rail-to-rail footprint predictable at 1 RMU, leaving adjacent U-space unobstructed for active equipment.

Compatibility

The CM-19 is built to fit standard 19-inch EIA rack rails, making it compatible with the broad range of Vertiv rack and enclosure products as well as any third-party cabinet conforming to the EIA-310 19-inch standard. It is suited for use in open-frame and enclosed network racks where cable strain relief is needed at UPS outputs, PDU feeds, patch panel runs, or structured cabling entry points. Not intended for 23-inch rail configurations without adapter hardware.

Installation Notes

Mounts in a single rack unit (1 RMU) of vertical space. Verify 19-inch rail compatibility before ordering — the 19-inch width is fixed and does not adjust. Use standard rack screws or cage nuts appropriate for your cabinet's rail type. Cable bundles should be secured to the bar with hook-and-loop or nylon ties at regular intervals; avoid over-tensioning ties on power cables to prevent insulation compression. Consult your data center cable management plan to place the bar at the most effective strain point relative to active equipment above or below.
