Overview
The Vivotek TB9331-E-8.8mm is a professional-grade thermal imaging bullet camera engineered for outdoor perimeter security and monitoring in extreme environmental conditions. Built with an uncooled VOx infrared detector and 720x480 effective resolution, this camera delivers reliable thermal imaging capability regardless of lighting conditions—penetrating fog, smoke, and complete darkness to provide continuous situational awareness. The 8.8mm fixed thermal lens offers a 69.6° horizontal field of view, making it ideal for wide-area monitoring applications where conventional visible-light cameras fail.
The TB9331-E operates across the 8–14 µm spectral range, capturing thermal energy invisible to the human eye. Its multimedia SoC with 512 MB RAM and 128 MB flash ensures smooth processing of thermal data and video compression. The camera supports up to 10 simultaneous live-view clients and delivers adjustable resolution and quality control through Smart Stream II technology. Onboard event management includes motion detection, tampering alerts, and cybersecurity event triggers with actions routed via email, FTP, HTTP, or NAS.
Network integration is comprehensive: IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack, ONVIF Profile G/S compliance, and enterprise-grade security through HTTPS, IEEE 802.1x authentication, and access controls. The included Trend Micro IoT Security package provides a 3-year free trial for additional threat detection.

Thermal cameras excel where visible-light systems are blind. The TB9331-E's uncooled detector eliminates the cost and complexity of cooled infrared sensors while maintaining sensitivity below 50 mK—sufficient for human detection at operational ranges typical of perimeter security. The wide-angle 8.8mm lens is ideal for initial deployment; additional focal lengths (19mm, 35mm, 50mm) enable adaptation to specific site geometry without camera repositioning.
The 720x480 resolution is native to thermal sensors; the scalable 960x640 output via digital zoom preserves detail for forensic review. Simultaneous power redundancy (PoE, 12V DC, 24V AC) ensures deployment flexibility in environments lacking dedicated power infrastructure. The 512 MB RAM and multimedia SoC handle thermal-specific image processing (white balance, contrast adjustment) without external compute overhead. For security operations requiring 24/7 perimeter awareness regardless of weather or lighting, the TB9331-E represents a mature, production-ready thermal imaging platform.
