System Sensor ETX InnovairFlex Exhaust Tube 12-Inch
Overview
The System Sensor ETX is a 12-inch flexible exhaust tube designed to route air samples from InnovairFlex duct smoke detectors in HVAC systems. This component solves the installation problem of rigid ducting — when you need to transport sampled air from a detector mounted on square or rectangular ductwork to a remote exhaust location, or when your configuration doesn't align with standard rigid piping. The ETX operates at 29VDC and is built to integrate with System Sensor's InnovairFlex D4120 series photoelectric duct detectors, which handle airflow speeds from 100 to 4,000 feet per minute.
Compatibility
The ETX exhaust tube is engineered for System Sensor InnovairFlex D4120 duct smoke detectors. It works with installations requiring flexible air sampling routes in commercial HVAC systems — buildings with complex ductwork layouts, retrofit scenarios where rigid conduit routing is impractical, or multi-point sampling configurations. The tube supports the detector's broad operating range: –4°F to 158°F ambient temperature and 0 to 95 percent relative humidity (non-condensing). Verify your detector model operates on 29VDC before ordering; this exhaust tube is not a retrofit for legacy fixed-mount detectors.
Installation Notes
The exhaust tube mounts to the InnovairFlex housing's ¾-inch conduit knockout without tools — the patented sampling tube design installs from the front or back of the detector. Ensure airflow velocity in your ductwork falls within 100–4,000 feet per minute; operation outside this range reduces detection reliability. The tube itself is 14.38 inches in length overall, with a 5-inch width and 2.5-inch depth when installed. Weigh 2.5 lbs — plan for adequate bracket support if the run exceeds 3 feet horizontally. Avoid kinking or crushing the flexible section; this degrades air sample flow and can produce false negatives on smoke detection. Route the tube away from high-temperature zones above 158°F (e.g., furnace vents, steam lines).
