Overview

The ERC-27B is Epson's black fabric ribbon replacement for the M-290, TM-290, TM-290II, and U-295 dot-matrix POS printers. Keeping a stock of genuine ribbons on hand eliminates print-quality degradation mid-shift — faded receipts and transaction records are the most common symptom of a ribbon past its service life. Swapping the ERC-27B restores full ink density without requiring any tools or printer calibration.

Compatibility

The ERC-27B is designed for the following Epson printer models:

• Epson M-290 — impact dot-matrix receipt printer
• Epson TM-290 — POS transaction printer
• Epson TM-290II — updated variant of the TM-290 series
• Epson U-295 — slip/validation printer

Do not install this ribbon in other Epson POS printer families — ribbon cartridge dimensions and ink formulation are specific to these models. Using a non-matching ribbon risks damaging the print head or producing inconsistent output.
