Description

QNAP QXG-2G4T-I225 Quad-Port 2.5GbE Network Expansion Card

Overview

The QXG-2G4T-I225 adds four independent 2.5GbE ports to a QNAP NAS or compatible PCIe host via a single PCIe 3.0 x4 slot. At four ports on one card, this is the right pick when you need to segment traffic across multiple VLANs, aggregate bandwidth to a switch, or dedicate separate interfaces to iSCSI, management, and client traffic without consuming additional slots. The card's low-profile form factor — 120.15 mm board length — fits both full-height and low-profile chassis with the appropriate bracket, making it a practical fit in short-depth rack units where a standard-profile card won't seat.

Compatibility

The QXG-2G4T-I225 is designed for QNAP NAS and network appliances that expose a PCIe 3.0 x4 (or wider) expansion slot, including the TVS-h series, TS-x73A, TS-x83XU, and other QNAP units listed on the network expansion cards compatibility page. PCIe 3.0 x4 electrical interface means the card will seat in x8 or x16 slots as well; confirm your host's available slot count and NAS OS support before ordering. The 2.5GbE speed tier is compatible with 2.5GbE-capable network switches and is backward-compatible with 1GbE and 100Mbps infrastructure — useful when your edge switch is already 2.5GbE-ready but your NAS still has only 1GbE onboard.

Installation Notes

Board dimensions are PCBA-only (120.15 mm length × 1-slot width); the bracket is not included in that measurement. Verify whether your chassis requires a full-height or low-profile bracket before install — QNAP notes that partial parts or accessories may vary. Seat the card with the host powered down, and confirm the QNAP NAS firmware version supports the Intel I225 controller; refer to the QNAP network card compatibility matrix for firmware prerequisites before deployment.
