Description

QNAP RAIL-E02 Standard Rack Rail Kit for ES NAS Series

Overview

The QNAP RAIL-E02 is a standard rail kit designed to mount compatible QNAP enterprise NAS and expansion enclosures into standard 19-inch server racks. The RAIL-E02 targets data center and server room installations where rack depth varies — it spans the 24-inch to 36-inch range, covering the majority of 2-post and 4-post rack environments without requiring adapter hardware. If your rack falls within that depth window, this kit eliminates the need to source a third-party sliding rail solution.

Compatibility

The RAIL-E02 is designed for the following QNAP enterprise NAS and expansion series: QNAP ES-series NAS, including the ES1640DC, and the EJ1600 expansion enclosure. Rack requirements: mounting post width of at least 17.8 inches (451 mm), panel width of at least 19.1 inches (485 mm), and mounting post depth between 24 and 36 inches (609.6 mm to 914.4 mm). It is not a universal fit — verify your rack's post depth and panel width before ordering. Units outside the 24–36-inch depth range will require a different rail kit. For a full list of compatible NAS storage enclosures, confirm against QNAP's compatibility matrix for the RAIL-E02 before purchase.

Installation Notes

Mounting post depth must fall between 24 and 36 inches — racks shallower than 24 inches or deeper than 36 inches are not supported. Panel width must meet the 19.1-inch minimum, which is standard for EIA-310 19-inch rack enclosures. Confirm post width meets the 17.8-inch minimum before installation. No additional adapter brackets are listed in the evidence for this kit — the rail kit is intended as a direct fit for the listed compatible enclosures within the specified rack envelope.
