The 2-fiber, 50/125µm OM5 construction supports wideband multimode transmission — meaning it is optimized for short-wave division multiplexing (SWDM) applications where you need to push higher aggregate bandwidth over existing multimode infrastructure without rerunning fiber. At 7.5 meters, it is sized for intra-rack and cross-patch runs where standard 1–3m cords fall short. The LC uniboot connector design consolidates both fibers into a single-boot assembly, cutting panel space roughly in half versus standard duplex LC — a real consideration in high-density patch environments where port real estate is tight.
