Overview

The FW2RLU1U1ONM6.5 is a 2-fiber OM5 wideband multimode (50/125µm) patch cable from Panduit's QuickNet™ line, terminated with LC duplex uniboot connectors and jacketed in Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) material. It is engineered for pre-terminated fiber optic infrastructure in data centers, telecommunications rooms, entrance facilities, and equipment distribution areas where rapid, tool-free deployment is the priority. OM5 wideband multimode supports parallel optics and short-wave division multiplexing (SWDM) — giving this cable a forward path to 40G and 100G applications over existing multimode plant without rewiring. The LSZH jacket suppresses toxic fume and smoke generation during a fire event, a code requirement in plenum and enclosed-riser pathways where personnel safety standards are enforced.

Compatibility

Designed for LC-equipped active equipment and fiber patch panels across data center and enterprise switching environments. Compatible with OM5-rated transceivers and optics from Cisco, Juniper, Arista, and HPE Aruba that call for 50/125µm wideband multimode fiber. Also backward-compatible with OM3 and OM4 equipment at reduced distance budgets — useful in mixed-generation infrastructure where not all gear has been refreshed. Meets TIA-568.3-D, ISO/IEC 11801, and ANSI/TIA-942-B, so it integrates cleanly into structured cabling systems specced to any of those standards. The LC uniboot form factor reduces congestion at high-density patch fields by routing both fibers in a single, narrower jacket — a practical benefit when you are managing hundreds of connections in a rack or cabinet with limited airflow clearance.

Installation Notes

The uniboot connector design allows polarity reversal in the field without tools — flip the ferrule housing to swap A/B polarity rather than re-terminating. Verify that destination patch panels and switch ports are LC-compatible before ordering; this cable does not include an SC or MPO adapter. LSZH rating satisfies NEC Article 800 and IEC 60332 flame-spread requirements for use in restricted-airflow spaces; confirm local AHJ acceptance before substituting a PVC-jacketed alternative in the same pathway.
