The Panduit FW2RLU1U1NNM045 is a pre-terminated OM5 wideband multimode fiber patch cord from the Panduit QuickNet™ fiber cabling line, purpose-built for high-density fiber optic patch infrastructure in data centers, telecom rooms, entrance facilities, and equipment distribution areas. At 45 meters (147.6 ft), this 2-fiber LC duplex cord covers longer intra-facility runs — main distribution area to horizontal distribution area (MDA-to-HDA) in a TIA-942-compliant data center layout — without requiring a fusion splice or field termination. The uniboot LC connector design routes both fibers through a single boot rather than paired boots, cutting cable bulk in high-density patch panels by roughly half and keeping airflow paths clear in dense 1U/2U environments. The Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) jacket means combustion products are limited to low-smoke, non-halogenic gases — required for plenum and enclosed spaces in many European and US enterprise fire codes, and increasingly specified in North American data centers where occupant safety standards drive jacket selection beyond standard PVC. OM5 wideband multimode (50/125µm) fiber supports SWDM4 (shortwave wavelength division multiplexing) parallel optics, enabling 40G and 100G transmission over a single duplex pair — a practical reason to deploy OM5 over OM3/OM4 when future bandwidth headroom matters. Compliant with TIA-568.3-D, ISO/IEC 11801, and ANSI/TIA-942-B, this cord meets the interoperability requirements expected in multi-vendor structured cabling architectures.
The LC duplex uniboot connector interfaces with any standard LC-port SFP+ or SFP28 transceiver, LC-port fiber patch panels, and LC-port fiber cassettes including Panduit QuickNet cassette modules. Compatible with active equipment using duplex LC ports for 1G, 10G, 25G, 40G (SWDM), and 100G (SWDM4) links over OM5. Works across multi-vendor environments — Cisco, Arista, Juniper, HPE, Dell, and others — wherever standard LC duplex OM5 connectivity is specified. The 50/125µm core is backward compatible with OM3 and OM4 laser-optimized infrastructure, though mixed-grade links should be validated against your transceiver's minimum modal bandwidth requirements. Uniboot form factor is specifically suited to Panduit QuickNet HD and Ultra-High-Density (UHD) patch panels designed for single-boot cable management, though any standard LC port will accept the connector.
The LSZH jacket is rated for enclosed and plenum-adjacent spaces but verify your local fire code for jurisdiction-specific requirements — LSZH is not always a direct substitute for riser (CMR) or plenum (CMP) rated jackets in US NEC applications. At 45m, minimum bend radius should be maintained throughout the routing path; exceeding the rated bend radius on OM5 fiber introduces insertion loss and can permanently degrade modal bandwidth. The uniboot connector polarity is field-reversible on most QuickNet uniboot designs — confirm polarity (Method A, B, or C per TIA-568.3-D) before installation in a structured cabling system to avoid transmit/receive swap at the far end.
