Overview

The Panduit FW2ERLNSNSNM016 is a 16-meter (52.5 ft) pre-terminated fiber optic patch cable from the QuickNet™ family — a 2-fiber OM5 wideband multimode assembly with LC Duplex on one end and SC Duplex on the other, jacketed at 1.6mm and rated OFNR (Riser) for in-building vertical runs. Designed for data centers, telecom rooms, entrance facilities, and equipment distribution areas where pulling unterminated cable is not an option and link-up time matters. The OM5 50/125µm wideband multimode fiber supports short-wavelength division multiplexing (SWDM) applications, enabling higher-bandwidth parallel transmission over the same fiber count compared to conventional OM4 — relevant when you're planning for 40G or 100G BiDi optics without home-run recabling. At 16m, this assembly covers typical IDF-to-MDA or patch panel-to-active-equipment spans in structured cabling designs built to TIA-568.3-D, ISO/IEC 11801, and ANSI/TIA-942-B standards.

Compatibility

The LC Duplex / SC Duplex connector configuration targets connections between SFP+ or SFP28 transceivers (LC interface) and legacy SC-port patch panels, media converters, or passive optical distribution frames. Compatible with OM5-capable transceivers from Cisco, Arista, Juniper, and similar vendors that specify SWDM4 or BiDi operation on 50/125µm fiber. Backward-compatible with OM3 and OM4 infrastructure at reduced reach and bandwidth ceilings — mixing generations is supported but OM5's SWDM advantage is only realized end-to-end on OM5 links. The OFNR riser rating satisfies NEC Article 770 for vertical between-floor pathways; it is not rated for plenum (OFNP) spaces — if your pathway runs through an air-handling plenum, specify a plenum-rated variant instead. Fits Panduit QuickNet patch panels and structured cabling systems as well as any standards-compliant LC or SC port infrastructure.

Installation Notes

The 1.6mm jacket diameter is slimmer than standard 2mm or 3mm cordage, which reduces bend radius and eases routing through congested cable management trays and patch panel fields — useful in high-density racks where airflow and cable slack management are already constrained. Pre-polished PC (Physical Contact) connectors ship factory-terminated; no field polishing or cleaving is required. Verify the 52.5 ft run length accounts for service loops and patch panel dressing before ordering — this length is fixed and cannot be field-modified. Pull tension and minimum bend radius should follow TIA-568.3-D installation guidelines during routing to preserve connector end-face geometry.
