Overview

The APC by Schneider Electric RACSC101 is a pre-engineered, integrated data center row solution that combines an InRow SC cooling unit, a 42U NetShelter SX 600mm rack, and rear hot-aisle containment into a single procurable bundle. Where most rack deployments treat cooling, enclosure, and containment as three separate line items and three separate installation scopes, the RACSC101 consolidates the architecture up front — the cooling unit, the rack, and the rear containment panels arrive as a matched set, designed to work together at the row level rather than retrofitted after the fact.

This bundle targets small-to-mid-size data center rows, server closets, and edge compute deployments where precision cooling is required but floor space is constrained. The APC by Schneider Electric InRow approach puts the cooling unit physically adjacent to the heat load — inside the row, not across the room — which is the fundamental difference between row-based and room-based cooling strategies. If your raised-floor CRAC units are struggling to maintain consistent inlet temperatures across a dense row, this architecture directly addresses that problem.

  • 42U NetShelter SX 600mm Rack: The 42U enclosure gives you standard rack-unit depth at 600mm wide — wide enough for full-depth servers and dual-post PDU runs, but narrower than 800mm frames, which matters when you're fitting multiple cabinets into a tight row footprint.   • 1200 CFM Airflow: The InRow SC unit moves 1,200 cubic feet per minute through the cooling coil. At typical data center densities of 5–10 kW per rack, 1,200 CFM is calibrated to handle the thermal load of one fully loaded 42U cabinet without over-provisioning the cooling capacity to the point of wasting energy on excess airflow.
  • 2940W Cooling Capacity: The system is rated to remove up to 2,940 watts of heat from the immediate row environment. Size your IT load accordingly — if you're projecting sustained loads above 2.9 kW on this rack, plan for supplemental cooling or evaluate the next tier of InRow capacity.
  • Rear Hot-Aisle Containment: The included rear containment panels close off the hot exhaust side of the rack, directing server exhaust directly into the InRow return path rather than letting it bleed back into the cold aisle or circulate through the room. Containment is the single highest-impact step you can take to improve cooling efficiency in a row-based deployment — it's far more effective than increasing airflow volume.
  • NEMA L6-20P Input Connection: The unit connects via a NEMA L6-20P twist-lock plug. This is a 240V, 20A locking connection — confirm your PDU or circuit panel has a matching L6-20R receptacle before deployment. L6-20P is not compatible with standard 120V NEMA 5-20 circuits.
  • 60 Hz AC Input Frequency: Designed for North American electrical infrastructure. Not suitable for 50 Hz environments without transformer intervention.
