Description

HPE 861412-B21 CAT6A 4FT Patch Cable

Overview

The HPE 861412-B21 is a 4-foot CAT6A patch cable designed for structured cabling runs inside server racks, ToR (top-of-rack) switch connections, and short inter-device links in HPE data center and enterprise network environments. At 4 feet, it keeps slack manageable in dense 1U/2U rack configurations without the excess drape that longer runs create — a practical choice when patch panel and switch ports sit within a single rack unit or two.

Compatibility

Engineered for use with HPE networking and server platforms, including HPE ProLiant rack servers, HPE FlexFabric and Aruba switching lines, and HPE storage systems with RJ-45 network interfaces. Suitable for any CAT6A-compatible network cable termination point — patch panels, NICs, and 1/10GbE switch ports. CAT6A supports 10GbE at up to 100m, so at 4 feet this cable operates well within that headroom with no signal degradation concerns.

Installation Notes

Verify keystone jack and panel compatibility before deployment in mixed-vendor cabinets. CAT6A's larger conductor gauge and tighter twist specs mean the jacket is stiffer than CAT6 — allow for slightly wider bend radius when routing through cable managers. Use with a cable management arm or patch panel to keep the short run from stressing RJ-45 ports under repeated connects and disconnects.
