Overview

The Panduit HSTT25-48-QC is a thin-wall heat shrink tubing designed for wire bundling, insulation, and strain relief in low-voltage applications. Its 0.25-inch expanded inner diameter and clear color make it suitable for protecting individual wires or small cable bundles where visual inspection of the underlying connection is beneficial. This pack contains 25 individual pieces, ideal for project-based deployments or service calls where multiple terminations require a clean, insulated finish. It shrinks to provide a snug, protective jacket over splices, connectors, and wire ends, preventing abrasion and electrical shorts.

Compatibility

This tubing is designed for general-purpose use with a wide range of low-voltage wiring found in surveillance systems, network infrastructure, and industrial controls. It is compatible with most standard heat guns and torches used for heat shrink application. The 0.25-inch (6.35mm) expanded diameter accommodates bundles of wires or cables up to approximately 0.125 inches (3.18mm) after shrinkage, depending on the number and gauge of wires. It is suitable for use with copper and aluminum conductors terminated with standard crimp or compression connectors.

Installation Notes

For optimal performance, ensure the tubing is applied to clean, dry conductors. The tubing should be positioned to extend slightly beyond the termination point to provide adequate strain relief and insulation coverage. Apply heat evenly with a heat gun (minimum 1000W recommended) or torch, starting from the center and working outwards, until the tubing has fully shrunk and conformed to the wire bundle. Avoid overheating, which can damage the insulation or conductors. The expanded inner diameter is 0.25 inches (6.35mm), and it shrinks to a 0.125-inch (3.18mm) diameter. The shrink ratio is 2:1.
