Middle Atlantic CRFB-GFI-2 Decora Device Plate

Overview

The CRFB-GFI-2 is a Middle Atlantic rack-mount device plate designed to accept a standard Decora-style GFI (ground fault interrupter) outlet in a rack or enclosure opening. Rather than running a loose outlet strip or surface-mount box inside a rack bay, this plate integrates a Decora GFI device cleanly into the rack's blank panel row — keeping wiring organized, the installation compliant, and the finished appearance consistent with the rest of the rack's rack accessory hardware. It is the second variant (#2) in Middle Atlantic's CRFB GFI plate series, suited to installations where the GFI position within the rack matters for cable routing or device adjacency.

Compatibility

The CRFB-GFI-2 is designed for use with Middle Atlantic rack enclosures and open-frame racks that accept standard blank panel inserts in the CRFB series footprint. It accommodates a standard Decora-format GFI device (device sold separately). Verify the panel opening dimensions and rack unit height against your specific Middle Atlantic enclosure series before ordering — Middle Atlantic produces several rack frame widths and panel form factors, and the CRFB designation is specific to certain enclosure families within the power distribution and rack accessory lineup. If you are building out a rack with coordinated power access points, pair this plate with compatible rack power strips or power distribution units from the same enclosure series to maintain a consistent wiring architecture.

Installation Notes

The GFI device itself is not included — source a Decora-compatible GFI outlet rated for your circuit before installation. Confirm the rack panel slot matches the CRFB-GFI-2 cutout dimensions. Standard Decora device installation applies: connect line, load, and ground per NEC requirements, and verify the GFI tests correctly after wiring. No special tools beyond a standard screwdriver are typically required for plate seating.
