Overview
The Panduit PUP6004GR-WZ is a 1000ft (305m) spool of Category 6 bulk copper cable designed for high-performance network infrastructure. It features a green, plenum-rated (CMP) jacket, making it suitable for installation in air handling spaces where fire safety and low smoke emission are critical. This cable exceeds ANSI/TIA-568.2-D and IEC 61156-5 Category 6 component standards, ensuring reliable data transmission for demanding applications.
Compatibility
This bulk cable is designed for use with standard Category 6 networking components, including patch panels, keystone jacks, and network interface devices. It supports 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet) speeds, as well as Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications. Ensure all connecting hardware is also rated for Category 6 performance to maintain signal integrity.
Installation Notes
The cable construction utilizes 23 AWG solid conductors with FEP or polyolefin insulation, separated by a cross-divider to maintain pair geometry. The low smoke, flame-retardant CMP jacket is designed for vertical cable runs in plenums. Proper termination techniques and tools are required to achieve optimal performance and meet TIA standards. Avoid sharp bends that exceed the minimum bend radius to prevent conductor damage.
