Pelco VX-CONNECT Video Stream Export Module
Overview
The Pelco VX-CONNECT is a stand-alone software service that bridges VideoXpert video management systems to third-party clients and external platforms. It solves the integration problem when you need to send video streams from your VideoXpert deployment to non-native systems—security analytics platforms, business intelligence dashboards, remote monitoring stations, or legacy VMS installations—without custom development. VX-CONNECT handles the relay work: it receives stream requests, validates credentials and permissions via its built-in Administration Portal, and delivers customized RTSP endpoints to the requesting client. This means zero integration coding required on your end.
Compatibility
VX-CONNECT is purpose-built to work with Pelco VideoXpert systems. It accepts video streams from any camera or source already integrated into your VideoXpert deployment and relays them onward via standard RTSP protocol. Third-party clients requesting video must support RTSP; ONVIF discovery and profile support is optional but enables automated camera discovery. The module also supports SNMP interfaces and can be extended via plug-in architecture for features like PTZ control passthrough. If your third-party system speaks RTSP and you control VideoXpert credentials, VX-CONNECT will mediate the handshake.
Installation Notes
VX-CONNECT runs as a Windows service on Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) hardware—or on Pelco's recommended "Core / Media Gateway" server hardware. Minimum system requirements: Intel i5 (7th generation) or faster CPU, 32 GB RAM, 250 GB available storage, and Windows 10 or Server 2012 or higher (64-bit). Configuration is straightforward through the Administration Portal—no separate provisioning tools needed. Deployment is typically on a dedicated or shared server within your network perimeter, with firewall rules opening RTSP ports (default 554) to requesting clients or network segments.
