Overview

The Panduit UTP28SP8IN is an 8-inch Category 6 unshielded twisted pair (U/UTP) patch cord designed for high-density network installations. Its compact 28 AWG stranded conductor construction and 0.150-inch diameter simplify cable management in tight spaces, such as server racks or patch panels. This cord supports applications including 1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet, VoIP, and digital video transmission, while its CM/LSZH rating makes it suitable for plenum or riser pathways where fire safety is a concern. The integrated tangle-free latch prevents snags during connection and disconnection, streamlining moves, adds, and changes.

Compatibility

This patch cord is engineered to exceed ANSI/TIA-568.2-D Category 6 and ISO 11801 Class E performance requirements up to 250 MHz. It is backward compatible with 100BASE-T Fast Ethernet and supports various ATM data rates. The UTP28SP8IN is also rated to support IEEE 802.3af/802.3at PoE applications with up to 48 cables in a bundle, and IEEE 802.3bt types 3 and 4 (PoE++) with up to 24 cables in a bundle, ensuring reliable power delivery to network devices.

Installation Notes

The cable features a patented tangle-free latch that requires no special tool for release, simplifying deployment and maintenance. Pre-installed RapidID barcodes facilitate easy port mapping when used with compatible RapidID software, reducing troubleshooting time.
