Description

Middle Atlantic EFB6S 6-Gang Steel Evolution Series Floor Box

Overview

The Middle Atlantic EFB6S is a 6-gang steel floor box designed for above-grade raised-floor installations where you need a clean, secure termination point for AV, power, and data connections at floor level. Part of the Middle Atlantic Evolution Series floor box line, the EFB6S ships at 13.75 in wide × 16.13 in deep × 4.13 in tall — a footprint sized for conference rooms, boardrooms, and open-plan work areas where six circuits need to surface cleanly from a raised floor without exposed conduit or surface raceways. TAA compliance makes this a viable choice for federal, state, and municipal projects that require Trade Agreements Act-conformant hardware.

Compatibility

The EFB6S is built for raised access floor systems in above-grade applications — it is not rated for below-grade or in-ground use. It is designed to accept Middle Atlantic Evolution Series inserts, allowing you to configure the six gang positions for a mix of AC power modules, HDMI/DisplayPort pass-throughs, RJ-45 keystone jacks, USB charging, and XLR/audio connections depending on the insert selection. This makes it a natural fit for AV-over-IP deployments, surveillance infrastructure termination points, and integrated control rooms where Middle Atlantic rack and furniture systems are already in use. Confirm insert compatibility against the Evolution Series insert catalog before ordering — not all third-party keystones seat correctly in Middle Atlantic gang positions.

Installation Notes

The above-grade grade type rating means this box requires a raised floor void of sufficient depth to accommodate the 4.13 in height; verify your floor plenum clearance before specifying. The 16.13 in depth requires adequate below-plate space free of cross-bracing or cable trays. Steel construction provides the rigidity needed to support repeated connect/disconnect cycles without the box shifting in the floor cutout — relevant in high-traffic presentation spaces. Coordinate the floor cutout template with the 13.75 in width dimension to avoid rework on finished flooring.
