Description

Panduit UTP28SP3MRD CAT6 RED CPC PERF 28 AWG UTP CM/LSZH CABLE NC/NR

Overview

The Panduit UTP28SP3MRD is a 28 AWG Category 6 unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable designed for high-performance data transmission in demanding environments. Its CM/LSZH (Communications Multipurpose/Low Smoke Zero Halogen) rating ensures compliance with safety standards for plenum and riser installations, making it suitable for use within walls, conduits, and drop ceilings in commercial buildings and data centers. This cable supports 1 Gigabit Ethernet speeds and is ideal for connecting IP cameras, network switches, and other data endpoints where reliable network connectivity is critical. The red jacket color aids in visual identification for network segmentation or specific application runs, such as security surveillance systems.

Compatibility

This Panduit UTP28SP3MRD cable is compatible with standard RJ45 connectors and is designed to meet or exceed Category 6 performance standards. It is suitable for use with all network devices utilizing standard Ethernet connectivity, including but not limited to: IP cameras from brands such as Axis, Hanwha, Hikvision, and Dahua; network switches from Cisco, Ubiquiti, and Netgear; and network video recorders (NVRs) and servers requiring stable network links. Its 28 AWG construction is optimized for patch cord applications and shorter runs where flexibility is beneficial.

Installation Notes

For optimal performance and to maintain its Category 6 rating, this cable should be terminated using Panduit's recommended connectors and termination tools. Avoid sharp bends or kinks, as the minimum bend radius is 4 times the cable diameter. Ensure proper strain relief during installation to prevent damage to the conductors. The CM/LSZH rating requires installation in accordance with local building codes for riser and plenum spaces.
