NETGEAR APS299W-100NES 299W Power Supply Unit
Overview
The APS299W-100NES is a 299W modular power supply designed as a drop-in replacement or redundant unit for NETGEAR M4300 Intelligent Edge Managed Switches. It accepts 100–240VAC input, making it compatible with global power standards and eliminating the need for voltage converters across geographies. The 299W output supports enterprise deployments where dual, redundant power supplies provide fault tolerance — a single power supply failure won't bring down your stack. This matters in edge switching scenarios (data center ToR, campus core, AV-over-IP infrastructure) where downtime costs exceed the redundancy investment.
Compatibility
The APS299W-100NES pairs with NETGEAR M4300 series switches, including the M4300-96X (96-port 10G/40G configurations). The M4300 series supports hot-swappable, modular dual power supplies, allowing you to install a second unit without powering down the stack. Verify your M4300 model supports dual PSU configuration before ordering a second unit — some lower-port-count variants ship with single PSU slots. Check your existing switch documentation for compatible part numbers and power supply bay positions.
Installation Notes
The APS299W-100NES mounts horizontally into the M4300 power supply bay using standard rack-mount sliding rails. No special tools are required beyond a standard AC power cord (not included). Ensure incoming AC is rated for at least 15A at 100–240VAC. If installing into an existing M4300 switch, power off the switch and the existing PSU before removing or inserting the new unit. Allow 5 minutes for the switch to fully recognize and sync the redundant PSU after insertion — monitor the power supply status LEDs to confirm both units show green (active or standby). Ambient operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C; prolonged operation above 40°C may throttle output or trigger thermal shutdown.
