Middle Atlantic SR-24-28 24RU Pivoting Wall Rack
Overview
The SR-24-28 is a 24-rack-unit, 28-inch-deep pivoting wall rack built for AV and security equipment installations where floor space is limited but rear access is still required. The swing-out design lets the rack pivot away from the wall — critical when you need to reach patch panels, NVR rear ports, or cable terminations without demounting equipment. At 500 lbs UL-rated load capacity (335 lbs seismic), it handles fully populated NVR stacks, PoE switches, and UPS units in a single enclosure. With 42 inches of usable height (26 inches usable depth), you get real deployment flexibility, not a shallow shelf. Manufactured in the USA, TAA-compliant, and CSA-standard seismic-rated — qualifying it for federal, state, and education procurement where country-of-origin and seismic compliance are gating requirements. The SR-24-28 ships at 189 lbs, so plan for a two-person lift and wall-stud anchor engineering before scheduling the install.
Compatibility
Accepts standard EIA-310 19-inch rack-mount equipment — NVRs, managed PoE switches, patch panels, KVM units, and rackmount UPS systems from any manufacturer. The forward rackrail design is forward-compatible with Middle Atlantic's accessory ecosystem, including blanks, brush panels, and horizontal cable managers from the Middle Atlantic rack accessories line. Pairs naturally with security system backrooms and server closets where a full floor-standing rack enclosure is impractical. The 28-inch depth accommodates most 1U–2U NVR chassis and standard 1U switch form factors without forcing cable-bend compromises at the rear.
Installation Notes
Wall anchor load rating must be engineered to support the combined rack, equipment, and dynamic swing load — 500 lbs static UL rating does not substitute for structural wall assessment. Seismic load capacity is rated at 335 lbs per CSA standard; installations in seismic zones must derate total equipment load accordingly. The 23.5-inch width and 62.75-inch assembled height require clear wall clearance; verify swing arc clearance before finalizing placement. Two-person minimum for mounting given the 189 lb shipping weight.
