Description

Altronix SMP7PMP8220 Concise Descriptor

Overview

The Altronix SMP7PMP8220 provides a consolidated power solution for surveillance systems requiring both 12VDC and 24VDC outputs. This unit is designed to deliver up to 6A total current, distributed across eight individually fused outputs. It accepts a 220VAC input, making it suitable for installations in regions with that standard power availability. The SMP7PMP8220 simplifies wiring and reduces the number of power sources needed for multiple devices like cameras, illuminators, or access control modules.

Compatibility

This power supply is designed for use with a wide range of low-voltage surveillance devices that require either 12VDC or 24VDC power. It is compatible with most IP cameras, analog cameras, IR illuminators, and access control readers that operate within the specified voltage and current limits. The individual fuses allow for tailored protection for each connected device, preventing a single device failure from impacting others.

Installation Notes

The SMP7PMP8220 requires a 220VAC power source for input. Each of the eight outputs is protected by a user-replaceable fuse. Ensure that the total current draw of all connected devices does not exceed the 6A total output rating, nor the rating of the individual fuses. Proper ventilation should be maintained around the unit to prevent overheating. Consult the manufacturer's documentation for specific fuse rating recommendations based on connected equipment.
