Ubiquiti UA-G3-SK-GATE Access Control Starter Kit
Overview
The Ubiquiti UA-G3-SK-GATE is a complete gate access control solution designed for small to mid-sized deployments requiring integrated credential verification, visitor communication, and network connectivity. This starter kit bundles the UniFi Access Hub, an IP intercom module, and PoE++ power delivery into a single compact system, eliminating the need to source components separately. The kit ships ready for installation with all necessary controllers and communication hardware, making it ideal for organizations implementing their first UniFi Access infrastructure or expanding existing deployments to secondary entry points.
Key Features
The UA-G3-SK-GATE operates on universal AC input between 100–240V AC at 50/60 Hz, with a power consumption of just 3W when not delivering PoE output. Its polycarbonate enclosure measures 106 x 63 x 34 mm and weighs 210 grams, allowing flexible mounting options in tight spaces or weathered environments. The system maintains IP65 rating for dust and moisture ingress protection, suitable for outdoor gate installations. A single 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port provides network connectivity, and the hub includes one factory reset button for device recovery. The kit carries comprehensive global certifications including CE, FCC, IC, UL, UKCA, KC, CCC, and RoHS compliance, plus NDAA compliance for government and sensitive deployments. ESD protection extends to ±8kV in air and ±4kV contact scenarios, protecting connected intercom and credential readers from electrostatic discharge.
Deployment Scenarios
Gate-level access control is commonly deployed at parking facility entrances, industrial compound perimeters, multitenant office buildings, and residential communities where visitor screening and credential verification occur before physical entry. The integrated intercom allows two-way communication with visitors, and the bundled hub serves as the central controller for credential logic and tenant notification. Operating temperature range of 0 to 40°C (32 to 104°F) suits most temperate climates; arctic or extreme heat environments require additional thermal management or hardware relocation.
Network Integration
The UA-G3-SK-GATE integrates directly into UniFi's management ecosystem, communicating with UniFi Dream Machine or cloud-hosted UniFi Access controllers. The single Ethernet port connects to your existing network infrastructure; PoE++ power delivery enables connection of compatible credential readers, keypads, or additional intercom modules without separate power runs. This centralized control model simplifies credential provisioning, access policy updates, and audit logging across multiple gates and entry points.
Installation Notes
Mount the hub using the included polycarbonate bracket, ensuring adequate clearance for cable connections. The device requires AC power supply via the bundled AC/DC converter. Establish network connectivity via the 10/100 Mbps port—gigabit speeds are not required for typical intercom and credential traffic. Complete factory reset instructions are accessible through the physical reset button; use a fine tool to engage the recessed button for at least 10 seconds. Verify NDAA compliance documentation if deploying in government or federally regulated facilities.
