Hanwha XRN-6420RB2 Overview

The Hanwha XRN-6420RB2 is a 64-channel, Intel-based 8K NVR designed for large-scale surveillance deployments requiring high bandwidth recording and playback. This enterprise-class NVR supports up to 32MP camera resolution, eight SATA HDD bays (up to 10TB per drive), and delivers up to 520 Mbps recording bandwidth with up to 200 Mbps playback capacity. The XRN-6420RB2-60TB SKU includes 60TB raw storage pre-configured for immediate deployment.

Multiple codec support ensures compatibility across diverse camera ecosystems. The unit handles H.265, H.264, and MJPEG compression, with dual-stream recording capability for simultaneous storage at different resolutions and frame rates. Recording modes include normal, dual-stream, scheduled (continuous/event), and event-triggered (pre/post) with bookmark functionality. Distributed mode supports the full 520 Mbps bandwidth; normal RAID mode also maintains 520 Mbps during rebuild or degradation scenarios.

Dual HDMI outputs provide independent display control: HDMI 1 supports 4K (3840×2160 @ 30Hz) and HDMI 2 supports Full HD (1920×1080 @ 60Hz). Local display modes include dynamic layout, virtual channel view, and clone mode with up to 64 divisions on HDMI 1 and up to 36 divisions on HDMI 2. Web playback supports 1/2H, 2V, 3V, 4, 6, 8, and 9 window layouts.

ONVIF and SUNAPI protocol support enable seamless integration with third-party VMS and IP camera platforms. Built-in web management accommodates up to 100 simultaneous users. Automatic Recovery Backup (ARB) with N+1 failover provides business continuity for critical surveillance operations. iSCSI support enables network-attached storage expansion. The unit includes NDaa compliance and TPM integration for security-sensitive deployments.

WiseStream support optimizes bandwidth efficiency across H.265-capable cameras. AI Search functionality works exclusively with Wisenet AI cameras for intelligent event retrieval. Event triggers include alarm input, video loss, camera events (sensor, motion detection, video analytics, defocus, audio), dynamic events, and user-defined events. Event actions support email notification and event push alerts.
