The 1550 nm wavelength provides lower fiber attenuation than 1310 nm at long distances, making it the appropriate choice for extended campus backbone and utility corridor links.

Standard duplex operation—no A/B pairing required. For runs under 40 km, the FSFP-EGSM2LC40 (1310 nm) is sufficient and more common. Confirm fiber attenuation budget across the full run, including all splices and connectors. NDAA Section 889 compliant.
