i-PRO WV-U65300-ZYG Overview
The i-PRO WV-U65300-ZYG is a professional PTZ network camera designed for wide-area surveillance environments where remote repositioning and preset automation are required. It supports Full HD 1920×1080 video streaming with H.265/H.264 compression and offers motorized pan-tilt control with up to 256 preset positions. Powered by an Ambarella CV25M system-on-chip, the camera provides stable image processing and efficient encoding for continuous surveillance deployments. Network connectivity is provided through a 10/100 Ethernet interface and the device can be powered using PoE (IEEE802.3af) or 12VDC, making it suitable for standard IP surveillance infrastructure.
Lens and Coverage Geometry – What Actually Matters
The camera uses a 2.9–9 mm motorized zoom lens with a maximum aperture of F1.3 at wide and F2.5 at telephoto. This configuration produces a horizontal field of view ranging from 113° at the wide end down to 36° at telephoto in 16:9 mode. The ability to dynamically change focal length allows the camera to switch between wide situational awareness and targeted monitoring of specific areas.
DORI performance illustrates the operational coverage capabilities. Detection ranges extend up to approximately 118.2 m at telephoto and about 25.4 m at wide angle. Identification occurs at approximately 11.8 m in telephoto and 2.5 m at wide angle. These metrics are useful when planning installation height and preset positions; for example, wide-angle views can monitor large open areas such as parking lots, while telephoto presets can capture identification-level detail at controlled access points.
PTZ Operation and Preset Control
The WV-U65300-ZYG supports mechanical panning from 0° to 350° and tilting from 0° to 90°. Manual control speeds range from approximately 0.065°/s up to 150°/s, with preset movements also reaching around 150°/s. Up to 256 preset positions can be configured, allowing automated guard tours, patrol sequences, and self-return behavior after idle periods. This functionality is valuable for large coverage zones such as campuses, transit hubs, or industrial facilities where a single PTZ camera may monitor multiple areas sequentially.
Video, Storage, and Network Integration
The camera supports H.265, H.264, and MJPEG compression with resolutions including 1920×1080 and 1280×720 depending on configuration. Network connectivity is provided via a 10Base-T / 100Base-TX Ethernet interface. Optional microSD recording supports capacities from 2 GB up to 512 GB for edge storage and backup recording during network interruptions. Recording modes include manual recording, alarm recording with pre/post buffering, scheduled recording, and failover recording during network outages.
Security and System Integration
The device incorporates multiple cybersecurity protections including device certificates, HTTPS encryption, IEEE 802.1X authentication, brute-force protection, signed firmware, and FIPS 140-2 level-3 secure element support using NXP EdgeLock technology. These protections help ensure secure deployment in enterprise or government surveillance networks where authenticated communication and firmware integrity are critical.
Audio and Alarm Interfaces
Audio integration is supported through a 3.5 mm stereo microphone input and a monaural audio output. The camera also provides three alarm I/O terminals that can be configured for alarm input, alarm output, auxiliary output, or external triggers. These interfaces enable integration with external sensors, microphones, or security systems such as door contacts and motion detectors.
Physical Design and Installation
The camera housing uses an aluminum die-cast body with polycarbonate dome construction. The unit measures approximately 155 mm in diameter and 134 mm in height and weighs about 1.6 kg. A variety of mounting accessories are available including wall, ceiling, and parapet brackets, enabling flexible installation across indoor or outdoor infrastructure.
When This Is the Right Choice
This model works well in environments that require active monitoring and flexible coverage. Typical deployments include transportation hubs, warehouses, logistics yards, retail parking areas, and campus security where operators need to reposition the camera or run automated guard tours.
When It Is Not the Right Choice
If the deployment requires multi-sensor panoramic coverage, built-in analytics, or ultra-high-resolution imaging beyond 1080p, a fixed multi-imager or higher-resolution camera platform may be more appropriate.
