The i-PRO WV-X66300-Z4LK is a 2MP outdoor PTZ network camera engineered for long-range surveillance, rapid response tracking, and AI-assisted monitoring in large outdoor environments. Built around an Ambarella CV25m system-on-chip with an integrated AI engine, this camera supports edge analytics and AI auto-tracking to automatically follow subjects across wide areas. The camera combines a powerful 40× optical zoom lens, high-speed pan/tilt mechanics, and integrated IR illumination capable of reaching up to approximately 250 meters. With heavy salt damage resistance, IP66 weather protection, IK10 vandal resistance, and FIPS 140-2 Level 3 security hardware, it is designed for critical infrastructure, coastal deployments, transportation hubs, and city surveillance networks where reliability and long-distance observation are essential. 

Lens and Long-Range Coverage – What Actually Matters

The WV-X66300-Z4LK uses a 4.25–170mm motorized lens with 40× optical zoom, allowing operators to move from wide situational awareness to detailed identification at significant distances. At the wide end, the horizontal field of view reaches approximately 65°, allowing coverage of large areas such as intersections or stadium perimeters. At full telephoto, the field of view narrows to around 2°, enabling long-range target identification.

DORI performance demonstrates the camera’s long-distance capabilities. Identification can reach approximately 220 meters at telephoto, recognition around 440 meters, observation up to 880 meters, and detection exceeding 2 kilometers under optimal conditions. These values show why PTZ cameras like this are often installed on tall poles, towers, or rooftops to oversee wide environments while still allowing operators to zoom in for investigative detail. 

PTZ Performance and Auto-Tracking

This camera is built for rapid repositioning and automated tracking. The PTZ system supports endless 360° panning and tilt from −20° to +90°, allowing coverage from ground-level targets to elevated objects without repositioning the mount. Preset speeds can reach up to 700° per second for pan and 500° per second for tilt, enabling the camera to quickly reposition between patrol points or follow moving subjects. Up to 256 preset positions can be programmed for automated patrol sequences, guard tours, or event-triggered positioning. 

The integrated AI engine enables AI auto-tracking and supports up to two edge AI analytic applications simultaneously. The camera can operate at extremely low light levels, with color imaging down to about 0.011 lux and true night operation with IR illumination at 0 lux. These capabilities allow the camera to maintain visibility in complete darkness across large open spaces such as ports, rail yards, or perimeter fences. 

Image Processing and Dynamic Range

The camera includes i-PRO’s Super Dynamic processing with up to 144 dB dynamic range, helping maintain detail in scenes with extreme lighting differences such as bright daylight reflections or vehicle headlights at night. Additional image enhancements such as adaptive black stretch, fog compensation, and intelligent auto image optimization help maintain clarity in challenging weather and lighting conditions. 

Security, Networking, and Storage

Networking is handled through a standard 10/100 Ethernet interface with support for H.265, H.264, and MJPEG streaming. The system supports multiple simultaneous users and includes a full range of enterprise network protocols including IPv4, IPv6, HTTPS, SRTP, MQTT, and IEEE 802.1X authentication. Built-in cybersecurity includes signed firmware, device certificates, brute-force protection, and hardware-based FIPS 140-2 Level 3 encryption through the NXP EdgeLock secure element. Edge recording is supported using microSD cards up to 512GB for local redundancy or network failure scenarios. 

Environmental Durability and Construction

Designed for demanding outdoor installations, the WV-X66300-Z4LK features IP66 weather resistance and IK10 impact protection. The aluminum die-cast housing uses corrosion-resistant coatings and stainless steel hardware, making it suitable for coastal and high-salt environments. The camera is also rated to withstand wind speeds up to approximately 40 m/s (around 89 mph). The overall enclosure incorporates tamper-resistant construction and a clear polycarbonate dome with protective coating to maintain image clarity over time.
