Overview
The HID 900NHRNEK00018 is an R10-H class smart card reader engineered for PIVCLASS SE deployments requiring high-assurance credential authentication. This reader supports multiple encryption standards including FIPS 75-bit and MIF/DES 56-bit CSN processing, making it suitable for federal, enterprise, and secure facility access control environments where standards compliance is mandatory.
Connectivity & Protocol Support
The reader features 485FDX (RS-485 full-duplex) communication with Wiegand protocol enabled. It operates with FIPS and CAK encryption support, open collector output, and optional tamper detection. Low-frequency operation is disabled while high-frequency standard, SIO, and SEOS modes are active. UART and IPM functions are disabled for streamlined operation.
Physical & Operational
The unit includes red LED status indication with green flash confirmation, audible buzzer enabled, and standard enclosure in black finish. Designed for integrator installation in enterprise access control systems requiring cryptographic credential validation and audit-grade credential handling.
