Overview

Pelco OCTEXB1/2P is a 1/2-inch NPT barrier cable gland with ATEX and IECEx certification for hazardous area camera installations. Barrier glands provide electrical isolation between hazardous-area and safe-area sides of the cable entry, preventing ignition energy from propagating through cable conductors into classified zones. Dual certification supports European and international hazardous-area projects. NDAA Section 889 compliant.

Compatibility and selection notes

Required for petrochemical facilities, grain handling plants, paint spray booths, and any Zone 1/Zone 2 classified area where cameras need cable entry through an explosion-proof enclosure. Barrier glands are life-safety components—incorrect selection or installation can defeat the entire protection concept. Must be designed and installed by personnel with zone classification expertise. Confirm cable outer diameter and construction are compatible with the gland sealing range. Verify 1/2-inch NPT thread matches the enclosure cable entry port.
