Imaging Performance and Optics

The i-PRO WV-X66600-Z3K is a 6MP outdoor PTZ network camera built around a 1/2.8 type CMOS image sensor with a scanning area of 5.57 mm (H) x 3.13 mm (V). It supports resolutions up to 3328 x 1872 in 16:9 mode and delivers a maximum dynamic range of 132 dB with Super Dynamic enabled (Level 31). Minimum illumination performance is specified down to 0.13 lx (30IRE, F1.8, 1/30s, AGC:11) in color and 0.006 lx (50IRE, F1.8, 16/30s, AGC:11) in black and white.

The integrated motorized 30x optical zoom lens provides a focal length range of 4.5 mm to 135 mm with an aperture range of F1.8 (wide) to F4.7 (tele). Horizontal field of view ranges from 62 degrees (wide) to 2.5 degrees (tele). Extra zoom extends to 78x at 1280 x 720 resolution, and digital zoom ranges from 78x to 480x. DORI distances at telephoto reach up to 3050.4 m (Detect), 1220.2 m (Observe), 610.1 m (Recognize), and 305.0 m (Identify), supporting long-range perimeter and critical infrastructure surveillance use cases.

PTZ Mechanics and Coverage Control

The camera supports 360 degree endless panning with an operational tilt range of -20 degrees to +90 degrees. Manual pan and tilt speeds range from approximately 0.065 degrees per second to 150 degrees per second, while preset speeds reach up to approximately 700 degrees per second (pan) and 500 degrees per second (tilt). Up to 256 preset positions are supported. Auto modes include auto track, auto pan, preset sequence, and patrol, with configurable self-return intervals from 10 seconds to 60 minutes.

Edge AI and Analytics

The WV-X66600-Z3K incorporates an Ambarella CV22 system on chip and supports up to three edge AI analytic applications. Native AI capabilities include AI Video Motion Detection, AI Privacy Guard, AI Face Detection, AI People Detection, AI Vehicle Detection, AI Non-mask Detection (prior to V2.70), AI Occupancy Detection, and AI Scene Change Detection. AI Sound Classification supports gunshot, yell, vehicle horn, and glass break detection. Standard VMD supports four areas, with one area available for Scene Change Detection.

Compression, Streaming, and Network Integration

Video compression formats include H.265, H.264, and JPEG, with support for up to four individually configurable streams. Transmission modes include constant bit rate, VBR, frame rate, and best effort. Smart Coding features include variable and fixed GOP control (H.265 advanced modes up to 60 s GOP with 1 s key-frame). Network interface is 10Base-T / 100Base-TX via RJ45. ONVIF Profiles G, M, S, and T are supported. The camera accommodates up to 14 simultaneous users, subject to network conditions.

Environmental Hardening and Compliance

Designed for harsh environments, the camera meets IP66 and NEMA 4X ratings and is IK10 impact rated. It is compliant with ISO 14993 heavy salt damage resistance specifications and supports operation from -50 C to 60 C (power-on range -30 C to +60 C). Wind resistance is rated up to 40 m/s. The enclosure features aluminum die cast construction with heavy-salt damage resistance coating, stainless steel screws with corrosion-resistant treatment, and a polycarbonate clear dome with ClearSight coating. The unit supports PoE++ (IEEE 802.3bt) or DC 54 V input with a maximum consumption of approximately 37.8 W (Class 6 device).
