Imaging Performance and Optics

The i-PRO WV-S66300-Z3N is a 2MP outdoor PTZ network camera built on a 1/2.8 type CMOS image sensor with a scanning area of 5.57 mm (H) x 3.13 mm (V). It supports multiple resolution modes including 1920 x 1080 in 16:9 format and up to 2048 x 1536 in 4:3 mode using super resolution techniques. Dynamic range is specified at up to 144 dB with Super Dynamic enabled (Level 31), supporting high-contrast scenes common in perimeter and transportation deployments.

Minimum illumination performance is rated down to 0.011 lx (30IRE, F1.6, 1/30s, AGC:11) in color and 0.0004 lx (50IRE, F1.6, 16/30s, AGC:11) in black and white. The integrated 32x motorized optical zoom lens covers a focal length range of 4.25 mm to 136 mm with an aperture ratio of F1.6 (wide) to F4.4 (tele). Horizontal field of view in 16:9 mode ranges from 65 degrees (wide) to 2.4 degrees (tele). Extra zoom extends to 48x at 1280 x 720 resolution, with digital zoom from 48x to 512x. DORI distances at telephoto reach 1833.2 m (Detect), 733.3 m (Observe), 366.6 m (Recognize), and 183.3 m (Identify).

PTZ Mechanics and Operational Control

The camera provides 360 degree endless panning and an operational tilt range from -20 degrees to +90 degrees. Manual pan and tilt speeds range from approximately 0.065 degrees per second up to 150 degrees per second when powered by PoE++, and up to 90 degrees per second when powered by PoE+. Preset speeds reach up to 700 degrees per second (pan) and 500 degrees per second (tilt) under PoE++. Up to 256 preset positions are supported. Auto modes include auto track, auto pan, preset sequence, and patrol, with selectable self-return intervals between 10 seconds and 60 minutes.

Edge AI and Embedded Processing

The WV-S66300-Z3N incorporates an Ambarella CV25m system on chip and supports up to two edge AI analytic applications. Native AI functions include AI Video Motion Detection, AI Face Detection, AI People Detection, AI Vehicle Detection, AI Non-mask Detection (prior to V2.70), AI Occupancy Detection, and AI Scene Change Detection. AI Sound Classification supports gunshot, yell, vehicle horn, and glass break detection. Standard VMD supports four areas, with one area available for Scene Change Detection.

Compression, Streaming, and Security

Video compression formats include H.265, H.264, and JPEG (MJPEG). Transmission modes include constant bit rate, VBR, frame rate, and best effort, with support for up to four individually configurable streams. The camera supports ONVIF Profiles G, M, S, and T and accommodates up to 14 simultaneous users, depending on network conditions. Security features include FIPS 140-2 Level 3 compliance with NXP EdgeLock SE050F SecureElement, GlobalSign pre-installed device certificate, HTTPS, IEEE 802.1X, signed firmware, brute-force protection, and alteration detection.

Environmental and Power Specifications

The enclosure is IP66 and NEMA 4X rated with IK10 impact resistance and wind resistance up to 40 m/s. Operating temperature ranges from -50 C to +60 C when powered via PoE++ (Class 6), and from -20 C to +60 C when powered via PoE+ (Class 4). Power input supports PoE++ (IEEE 802.3bt compliant) and PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at compliant). Maximum power consumption is approximately 37.8 W under PoE++ and approximately 17.3 W under PoE+. The housing is aluminum die cast with stainless steel screws and a clear polycarbonate dome with ClearSight coating.
