Hanwha Vision PND-A7082RV

Hanwha Vision PND-A7082RV Overview

The Hanwha Vision PND-A7082RV is a 4MP AI indoor vandal dome designed for enterprise interior deployments where analytics, low-light performance, and hardened security controls matter more than marketing claims. It pairs a 1/1.8 inch CMOS sensor with Wisenet 9 and dual NPU support, targeting sites that want real-time classification at the edge without throwing bandwidth at the problem. Maximum resolution is 2592x1520, with H.265/H.264 frame rates up to 60fps/50fps when WDR is off, and up to 30fps/25fps when WDR is on. In practice, that gives you headroom for fast motion scenes like retail aisles, concourses, and lobby choke points while still keeping WDR available when you need it most at entrances and glass-lined corridors.

Lens and Coverage Geometry – What Actually Matters

The 4.6 to 9.35mm motorized varifocal (2.0x) is the real control surface for how this camera behaves. At wide, the horizontal field of view is 105 degrees, which is appropriate for broad coverage but inherently spreads your pixels thin. As you tighten to tele, horizontal FOV narrows to 47 degrees, concentrating pixel density where identification is actually possible. Vertical FOV ranges from 58 degrees to 27 degrees, and diagonal from 128 degrees to 55 degrees. The lens is P-iris and IR corrected, which helps maintain consistent exposure behavior and focus stability as lighting conditions change and IR engages. Minimum object distance is 1.5m, so do not expect reliable sharpness on subjects right under the dome. Use the pan, tilt, and rotate ranges (pan 0 to 350 degrees, tilt -45 to 85 degrees, rotate 0 to 355 degrees) to frame the scene without compromising the lens position you chose for pixel density. Mounting height should be driven by the scene goal: wide settings benefit from higher mounting for overall coverage, while tighter settings demand careful aiming to avoid missing lateral movement.

AI and Analytics

This model supports AI-based classified object detection for Person, Face, Vehicle, and License plate, plus attribute extraction. Person attributes include upper and lower clothes color, gender, and bag. Vehicle attributes include type (car, bus, truck, motorcycle, bicycle) and color. Face attributes include age, gender, face mask, and glasses. Analytics events based on the AI engine include object detection, virtual line (crossing and direction), virtual area behaviors (loitering, intrusion, enter, exit, appear, disappear), social distancing detection, and slip and fall detection. Normal events include defocus detection, tampering, audio detection, and shock detection. On the operational side, BestShot thumbnails are supported to improve forensic usefulness and reduce time wasted scrubbing footage. Dynamic Privacy Masking is supported when privacy compliance must not rely on operator discipline.

Image Quality and Low Light Performance

Low-light performance is a core strength: 0.03 lux color and 0.003 lux BW at F1.3, 1/30 sec, 30IRE. For interiors that still go dark after hours, the built-in IR LED system provides WiseIR illumination up to 60m with 850nm wavelength. WDR is rated at 120dB, which is the difference between usable faces and blown-out silhouettes at doorways. AI-based image enhancement, WiseNR II (AI-based noise reduction), and WiseStream (AI-based smart codec behavior) are designed to keep detail while reducing bandwidth and storage load. Digital image stabilization and defog are supported, which can help in vibration-prone ceilings or humid interiors where haze can develop.

Environmental and Durability Ratings

PND-A7082RV is rated IP52 and IK10. IK10 is the requirement for most public-access indoor deployments where impacts are expected. IP52 is specifically an indoor rating: it tolerates limited dust ingress and dripping water but is not a substitute for true exterior sealing. Operating temperature is -25C to +50C, with stated humidity up to 100 percent RH (condensing), supported by humidity control with an air vent. This is a camera for controlled interiors, not exposed outdoor soffits or washdown zones.

Infrastructure and Security Considerations

Networking is 10/100/1000BASE-T over metal shielded RJ-45. Power input supports PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at, Class 4) and 12VDC. Power consumption is specified at PoE max 15.0W (typical 9.0W) and 12VDC max 12.7W (typical 7.8W). That PoE number should be treated as your switch budget baseline when you scale: do not plan Class 3 margins and hope it works in cold start or IR-heavy scenes. Edge storage supports two microSD slots, up to 1TB per slot (2TB total). Security is unusually explicit: encrypted firmware, secure boot, signed firmware, digest authentication with brute-force prevention, IEEE 802.1X, HTTPS/WSS/SRTP, device certificate under Hanwha Vision Root CA, AES-256 SD card partition encryption, secure element storage, and supply chain SBOM support. ONVIF S, G, T, and M profiles are supported for integration planning.

When This Is the Right Choice

Choose PND-A7082RV when you need a vandal-resistant indoor dome with real AI classification and business intelligence outputs (people counting, queue management, heatmap, vehicle and crowd counting), strong low-light performance, and a security posture that matches enterprise governance. It fits retail, education, healthcare, and transit interiors where incident review time and false alarm rates have real operating costs.

When It Is Not the Right Choice

Do not choose this for exterior exposure, corrosive environments, or anywhere that requires higher ingress protection than IP52. Also do not expect the wide 105 degree end to solve identification at distance; if the job requires identification, you will be running the lens tighter and designing coverage accordingly.
