Return Policy

Every item returned to IP Security Depot (IPSD) is subject to the following terms and conditions. Some items can be returned to IPSD and some items cannot be returned to IPSD. We will go through the return process and what items can be returned in detail below.

Time Limit for Returns

IPSD has a 30 days from the date of purchase time limit for returns.

No item can be returned to IPSD after 30 days has passed from the date of purchase. After 30 days from the date purchase, every order is considered acceptable to the customer, and cannot be returned.

2-Step Return Process

If it has been less than 30 days from the date of purchase and you wish to return an item, please take the following two steps.

By following these two steps, you are expediting the return process and making sure that you will receive an appropriate action or credit upon IPSD processing the returned item.

1. Obtain an RMA Code

To initiate the return process, obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Code from IPSD by emailing our service desk. You must obtain an RMA code before sending any item back to IPSD.

Any item received without an RMA code will be refused.

To obtain an RMA code, please email service@ipsecuritydepot.com with the following information. This information is required:

  • Order number
  • Manufacturer part number
  • Serial number
  • Reason for return
  • Action requested (replacement, return, repair, credit)
  • Condition of item (manufacturer sealed or not)
  • You must include all of this information.

RMA approval is contingent upon receipt of item in original condition, as defined below.

2. Ship Item to IPSD

After you have obtained an RMA code, please ship the item in its original condition back to IPSD.

The customer is responsible for all shipping charges when returning an item to IPSD. Additionally, the customer is responsible if an item is lost during return shipping or if an item becomes damaged.

Because of this risk, IPSD highly recommends that you use insured parcel post when returning an item.

Upon IPSD receiving the item in original condition, we will take the appropriate action for the return as specified when obtaining the RMA code.

Terms and Exceptions

Every returned item is subject to the following terms and conditions.

Manufacturers might have distinct policies and/or restrictions that supersede IPSD terms and conditions. Please contact IPSD at (877) 277-7147 to learn if the manufacturer of your item has distinct policies and/or restrictions.

Original Condition

An item can be returned to IPSD only if it is in original condition. Original condition means that the item is:

  • Unopened and unused
  • Manufacturer-sealed
  • Brand-new
  • No item can be returned to IPSD if that item has been opened, has had its manufacturer seal broken, or has been used in any way.

Original condition also means that the item is packed in its carton as if from the original manufacturer. This includes:

  • All foam padding or bubble wrap
  • All manuals and/or accessories
  • Blank warranty cards
  • Any additional documentation contained in the original shipment
  • Any returned item that is not in its original condition will be refused.

Non-Returnable Items

Certain types of items cannot be returned under any circumstances, unless you have received the wrong item. These types of items are:

  • Maintenance or service contracts
  • Software
  • License keys
  • Surveillance equipment, cameras, systems, and accessories
  • Displays
  • Refurbished items

If you have received defective software or equipment, please contact the original manufacturer. If your refurbished item is defective, it can be exchanged for the same item.

Defective Items

If the item you received is defective, please contact the original manufacturer of that item directly.

Likewise, if you have questions about the terms and conditions of an item’s manufacturer warranty, please contact the original manufacturer directly.

Return Shipping

The customer is responsible for all shipping charges when returning an item to IPSD. Additionally, the customer is responsible if an item is lost during return shipping or if an item becomes damaged.

Restocking Fees

Every return is subject to a restocking fee of 15% to 30% of the original cost. Restocking fees cover credit card charges, order processing, item handling, and other expenses IPSD has incurred.

Restocking fees are variable. They depend on what type of product the returned item is, who the manufacturer is, and other conditions.

Money Back Guarantees

Some items sold by IPSD come with a money back guarantee from the manufacturer.

If your item is covered by a money back guarantee, that guarantee comes from the original manufacturer. Please contact the manufacturer directly with any questions concerning the money back guarantee.

Services

Unless you have a contract with IPSD for installation or support services, IPSD cannot assist you with the installation or configuration of products under any circumstances.

No service contract can be returned. This includes but is not limited to contracts for installation or support services.

Subject to the availability of the product, IPSD may supply firmware and/or software updates and manuals.
